On May 4 – 5 2017, the Innovation Seminar was organized by the African Lotteries Association (ALA). The seminar focused on the recent digital technology developments which have led to the emergence of new competitors forcing lotteries to rethink their approach.

Philippe Vlaemminck gave a presentation on “Regulating the future: embracing new forms of gaming”.
He explained how innovation can help to improve competitiveness, attract new players, how to adapt to new technologies and ensure sustainable future for the lotteries.

Beata Guzik gave a presentation on “How could social innovation contribute to social and economic growth of lotteries?” explaining the role that lotteries play in the society and how that role can be further embraced by social innovation.
