On 5 April 2016, the QED Seminar on circular economy was organized in Brussels.
The conference focused on the following questions: How could circular economy complement the agenda for jobs and growth? Which role should food waste play in the new strategy? How could innovation be stimulated within the circular economy strategy? What is needed to switch focus from recycling to reuse?

Answers to these questions were given by Beata Guzik who explained how circular economy can contribute to environmental, social and economic growth. She discussed what is the EU Circular economy and how to facilitate a transition to the circular economy in relation to plastics, food waste, critical raw materials and construction & demolition of buildings.

Beata Guzik also discussed the EU perspective including an EU action plan for the circular economy as well as a broader,  global perspective on Internet of Things, sharing economy and waste management.
