On 13 – 16 September 2016, the 26th Economic Forum was held in Krynica Zdroj, Poland. The Economic Forum is a three-day debate regarding the developments of financial sector in the EU and the future of European economy.

Philippe Vlaemminck took part in the panel “The Future of Windfarms” and discussed the legality of the Polish Distance Act for Windfarms from the EU law perspective. He described the EU renewable energy targets for 2020 and 2030, the objectives of the Renewable Energy Source Directive 2009/28/EC (RES) and new Polish Wind Energy Investments Act (the so-called Distance Act).
